Jenn Farley

Jenn Farley

Clinical Supervisor, LPCC#2700

Monterey Office

For her undergraduate education, Jennifer Farley attended the University of Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Dance and Psychology. From there, she went on to pursue her graduate studies in Chicago at Columbia College where she received a dual Masters of Arts degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling.

Currently, Jennifer Farley is a board certified dance/movement therapist, licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC #2700) and shamanic healer in private practice. Prior to creating her private practice, Jennifer spent eightyears working as a body-based psychotherapist  at a residential treatment center for people suffering from eating disorders. Throughout her career at this facility, Jennifer held multiple roles, including Clinical Director, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program Director and Primary Therapist.

It is here that she honed her expertise in effectively working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),  various forms of addiction, depression, low self esteem, pervasive feelings of shame/worthlessness, self destructive patterns, destructive relationship patterns, and existential and/or spiritual crisis. It is also here that her passion grew for teaching, training and supervising talented clinicians and mental health practitioners with all levels of experience.

To enhance her clinical skill set, Jennifer has completed Level One training in Internal Family Systems therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Feeling compelled to understand the essence of suffering and fulfillment beyond what traditional psychotherapy addresses, Jennifer also pursued education and training in shamanic healing. Jenniferhas studied with renowned Shaman Jon
Rasmussen, teacher and graduate of the Healing the Light Body School through The Four Winds. She has also been initiated into the Waskar and Inkari lineages through her studies with Juan Nunez del Prado, Ivan Nunez del Prado and Joan Parisi Wilcox.

Currently, Jennifer offers individual and group sessions, as well as workshops, retreats, supervision and consultation services. Lastly, Jennifer lectures nationwide on integrating body-based  interventions and shamanic practices into psychotherapy. Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy sessions will cost. Your fee will be set according to a sliding scale, in collaboration with your therapist, prior to your first counseling session. Total costs depend upon the number of sessions you choose to utilize.

If you have private health insurance and we are not in-network with your plan, please be aware that your costs for therapy may be less by using an in-network provider. This will depend upon your plan's deductible amounts and co-payments. In some cases, counseling at Shine a Light is less costly than using private insurance.

If you hope to use "out of network" benefits through your private insurance, please be aware that many plans will not reimburse for services provided by trainees. Please request an Associate level therapists for out-of-network billing.
